Unveiling Our Timeless Craftsmanship

Embark on a Journey through Centuries: Witness our age-old artistry as we handcraft our Moroccan rugs in the Atlas Mountains.

Harvesting Wool's Essence

Our odyssey starts high in the Atlas Mountains, where shepherds, custodians of this ancient craft, tend to their flocks.

In harmony with the rhythm of nature, and with respect to animal welfare, each summer sees the shearing of winter wool traditionally using scissors—a ritual that sets the stage for our rug-making journey.

50 to 100 coats are needed to make a standard-sized masterpiece.

Washing and Preparing

The wool is meticulously washed by our artisans and left to dry under the warm summer sun, ensuring it's primed for the next stages of production.

Transforming Wool into Threads

Our master artisans skillfully spin the prepared wool, one thread at a time, turning it into fine threads for weaving.

Organic Dies

At Soiree Berber, our commitment to authenticity extends to the very colors that grace our rugs.

Unlike replicas and mass-produced rugs using synthetic dyes, our Moroccan rugs boast a spectrum of hues extracted from nature itself.

We take pride in utilizing natural dyes extracted from a rich tapestry of plants, flowers, rocks and roots.

The extraction process, though meticulous, is a testament to our dedication to genuine craftsmanship.

The Art of Berber Knots

Enter the realm where the hands of our skilled artisans, the guardians of ancient traditions, embark on a weaving odyssey that transcends time.

It's a dance of fingers and threads, a rhythmic dedication that defines each rug from inception to completion.

Here, the Berber knot takes center stage—an ancient technique, a connection to the timeless tapestry of heritage.

This isn't just a knot. It is a 3500 years old technique passed down through generations and takes years of practice to master.

Final Touches and Air-Drying

Once the rugs are finished, they undergo a thorough cleansing, followed by gentle air-drying on wooden racks amidst the crisp mountain air.

With every rug we create, we celebrate an ancient legacy of craftsmanship that has withstood the test of time, preserving the captivating stories of Berber culture and traditions.
