A rhythm, interrupted.
Interlude is a contemporary Moroccan rug built around repetition. Fine charcoal-grey lines move across a warm ivory field, interrupted by a single terracotta stripe.
That deliberate interruption gives the rug its character. What initially appears ordered and minimal reveals something more human: subtle irregularities in the lines, variations in the wool, and the unmistakable presence of the artisan’s hand.
Handmade in Morocco from 100% natural wool, Interlude has a soft, tactile surface that brings depth and warmth to its restrained composition. The stripes are not mechanically perfect. Each follows the rhythm of the weaving, creating the small variations that distinguish a handmade rug from an industrially produced one.
The neutral ivory and grey palette makes Interlude particularly versatile, while the terracotta line introduces an unexpected point of warmth. It pairs naturally with plaster, stone, timber, terracotta, linen and other organic materials, making it equally suited to contemporary, Mediterranean and understated interiors.
Each Interlude rug is individually handmade. Slight variations in dimensions, lines, pile and edges are inherent to the process and make every piece unique.

Tailored Texture
Our standard knotted pile height ranges between 1" - 1.5" (2.5 to 4 cm) , with an average of 1.25" (3 cm). If you desire a lower or higher knotted pile, please reach out to us. A Soiree designer will collaborate with you to achieve your preferred pile height. This flexibility ensures your Handmade Moroccan Rug meets your exact specifications and enhances your living space beautifully.
Tassels
Traditional Moroccan rugs typically feature tassels on one side. You have the option to order your Berber Moroccan Rug with or without tassels. The tassel length generally ranges from 4" to 6" (10 to 15cm). Here's what tassels look like, adding a touch of traditional elegance to your rug.
No Tassels
Prefer a sleek finish? You can choose your Handmade Moroccan Rug without tassels. The end of your rug will feature a neat, unique binding, akin to the signature of the skilled weaver who crafted your design. This detail varies from rug to rug, enhancing the unique character of your piece.

Our journey starts in the Atlas Mountains, where shepherds tend to their flocks. We source the finest wool, sheared by hand using traditional methods. This wool forms the basis of our rugs, ensuring quality and authenticity.
Do the rugs shed?
Like any handmade wool rug, shedding is normal in the initial stages. This is a natural characteristic and diminishes after 3 weeks with regular vacuuming.
